After the encouragement of the day before, this was an unlucky and disappointing night.

The misfortunes befell Matthew, who wrenched a shoulder at some stage and eventually had to pull out, and Daniele who blew both his motors and rode borrowed machinery most of the night.

Both were effectively passangers, but in spite of this we went close to holding on for the bonus. As in the first leg heat 14 was our undoing.

Theo again rode pretty well, starting with a couple of good seconds and then hitting six in his favourite heat 11. His TR record is quite amazing.

Even more pleasingly, after his "horror smash" of the previous day, Henrik took a race win in heat 7 to show he was OK (after a wobbly first ride on an overwatered track).

Our only race advantage was a 6-3 in heat 11, at which point we were 15 down. We lost a 4-2 in heat 12 in which Derek got a good second, and then shared heat 13 with Cunningham at the back.

Henrik's TR in heat 14 might have clinched the bonus, but he was off gate 1 which was a poor gate all night. He was beaten to the first corner and we lost it 5-1, levelling up on aggregate and almost certainly taking the bonus out of sight.

So it proved after we lost another maximum in the last heat.

Had we had effective contributions from Matthew and Daniele, we would have got the bonus which over the two legs we certainly deserved.
