3 is the magic number as we look to make it third time lucky with another attempt at re-staging the Caledonian Riders Championship in association with Linlithgow Tyres and Exhausts on Friday night.
Fortunately the majority of all riders were available to return and we have 9 of the line-up from last week back in the fold.
It could be argued that the 3 changes make for an overall stronger line-up as the championship has caught the imagination of the local riders and public alike.
Sadly Mason Campton, Tom Perry and Ryan MacDonald are unavailable for the re-staging but top line replacements have been found in the form of Max Clegg, Dany Gappmaier and Luke Ruddick.
Clegg of course needs very little introduction being as he is now 3 years into his Monarchs career. Max has been finding life a little difficult in the Championship of late but boosted by a victory in the Belgian Golden Helmet last weekend he will be looking to add this trophy to his cabinet on his home track.
Gappmaier has been one consistent in a hard season on track for Berwick and the likeable Austrian will be among the favourites having shown a liking for the Armadale circuit winning a heat as a guest for the Monarchs earlier in the season. If he has his gating boots on then this could be the time we see the very best of Gappmaier.
Ruddick is another of the young Scots on the scene and perhaps the most advanced. A regular for Mildenhall, Ruddick has averaged over 6 in the National League and has shown up well in a handful of guest bookings in the Championship. A strong performance in this field will act as a marker as promoters look to fill reserve berths next season no doubt.
The rest of the line-up stays as is and I’m sure you all remember that from last week’s preview (cough ahem) and with all the other attractions of bouncy castle, face painting, riders q+a’s photo and autograph sessions then a fun night is set for what finally looks to be a lovely week weather wise. See you there!
