It was disappointment all round after a day of really miserable, cold, wet weather finally proved too much and the second leg of the Scottish Cup was rained off.
The drizzle was continuing, which would have made visibility bad, and it would have been a tough evening for anyone standing on the Armadale terraces.
With Glasgow running on Fridays it isn't an easy one to reschedule but we will bring news in due course. Our opening meeting will now be next Friday, a challenge against a team labelled Monarchs Champions – and we will have some exciting news about the riders who will be in the visiting team.
Before then, Ricky Wells and Max Ruml ride on Saturday in the Cumbrian Open at Workington, and the team head for Scunthorpe in the first Championship match of the season on Sunday.
And we are back!!!
It’s been a long cold winter (And wrap up warm it’s going to be a chilly one tonight) but finally we will hear the bikes roar at Armadale for our 21st season in West Lothian.
First to visit are our nearest and dearest rivals the Glasgow Tigers in the second leg of the Scottish Cup with a 10 point deficit to overturn.
We acquitted ourselves well last week before a bit of a late collapse led to the 10 point defeat but there is a strong belief in the camp this can be overturned.
There were a lot of positives to take out of last week with Ricky, Erik and Matt in particular all performing well and a solid debut for Max as well.
Of course that all counts for nothing tonight as the Tigers head east with a team full of Armadale pedigree, Richie Worrall, Lewi Kerr, Paul Starke, Chris Harris and James Sarjeant all have recorded double figure returns in the past and with ex Monarch Claus Vissing and youngster Jack Thomas fresh off the back of his sensational debut last week the Tigers will take some beating.
Of course that is exactly what we are aiming to do and with 4 of last year’s team Erik, Ricky, Mark and Josh all back and raring to go alongside newcomers Matt, Joel and Max a fantastic tussle lies ahead.
So there is only one place to be tonight as the forecast looks promising as the afternoon progresses and with free Easter eggs for the kids tonight a cracking night lies ahead. As ever there is only one place to witness the action and that is Armadale. See you there!!!
