The WTF Monarchs came through with flying colours tonight after a very tight encounter with the League Champions Poole, recovering from a 2-point deficit after heat 12 to win 49-41 which was enough to ensure that there was no consolation loser's point for the Pirates.

Friday's visit to Armadale by the Poole Pirates, Championship winners in 2021, will be the toughest test so far of the Monarchs' credentials as Playoff candidates. The Pirates won at Armadale in both the league and the Knockout Cup final in the latter part of last season, and appear to have a similar side this time round.
