Friday night looks like being a very special occasion at Armadale.

Very much the unsung hero since his return to the team at the beginning of 2012, Theo Pijper has had some tough times recently but last night’s events probably hit him harder than anything.

The Scotwaste Monarchs turned in a great performance tonight against a rather disappointing Workington team, winning 61-34 which was the biggest home victory of the season.

This Friday’s first half of a weekend Premier League double header against Workington Comets is yet another really challenging match against one of the top teams which keep on coming while Monarchs’ problems of putting seven fit riders on the track aren’t getting any easier.

"With our team at its weakest, it seems to be one difficult match after another after another after another and on it goes for the Scotwaste Monarchs and Workington will provide strong opposition on Friday night.

This week’s visitors to Armadale are another of the Premier League’s top teams, Workington Comets. They are placed second in the table, 2 points behind Leicester with 2 matches in hand.

It seems that Jozsef Tabaka is not as badly injured as we first feared. A visit to hospital on Monday has confirmed that he has a foot injury but the damage should not keep him out of action for many weeks.
