So a fortnight ago I was all set to bring the curtain down on the Monarchs 2016 season with a song. Then it was a case of lights out and so we try again as for the 11th time this season we attempt to race the Glasgow Allied Vehicle Tigers.

The Border Roofing Monarchs finally reach the last match of the season against Glasgow Tigers this Friday after a problematic year in which the Friday weather has been dreadful on a regular basis, topped off by the floodlight failure which caused another postponement a fortnight ago.

We are gradually working through the requested refunds from our abandoned match on 7th October. A big job as we had many requests. Can we please ask you to be patient.

It's now just three weeks until our big social event of the year, the End of Season Dinner and Dance. It is the 29th such event we have staged and we have a new venue this year at the Village Hotel in Edinburgh.

Monarchs 100 are on the march again! Not across the Forth this time, but the Fundraising group which has been organised by our good friends Scott Wilson and Derek Wilkinson have winter plans which they are going to reveal soon.

We have agreed the restaging date for our final match with Glasgow and it will be Friday 21st October. That means that the Border Roofing Monarchs will go into that match without Sam Masters and Ryan Fisher.

News broke on Saturday lunchtime of the closure of Armadale Greyhound track. We would like to confirm that it is the greyhound side of the operations that have closed down. The stadium is still very much open for speedway.

On what was in every sense one of the blackest nights in Edinburgh Speedway history, our match against Glasgow was postponed and we could not bring our league programme to a conclusion.
