Poole Pirates are amongst the most famous names in Speedway, and their visits to Monarchs' former venues were always eagerly looked forward to. However they have never yet been to Armadale, a situation set to be rectified when the Pirates face the What the Fork Monarchs in West Lothian on Friday.

On a night where it would have been so easy to collapse the What the Fork Monarchs showed their mettle once again sticking to task to become the first team to leave Poole with anything this year courtesy of a heat 15 maximum from Richie Worrall and Sam Masters in heat 15.

The What the Fork Monarchs started well before fading late ultimately leaving Plymouth's Coliseum empty handed as the hosts ran out 50-40 victors.

The What the Fork Monarchs are back in action on Tuesday night as they make what must be the longest trip in UK speedway (491 miles door to door for those interested) to take on the Plymouth Gladiators with Championship points the aim.

Armadale Stadium hosts the best of Britain's young speedway riders on Saturday 14th August at 2:30pm in round 4 of the British Youth Championship.
