It seems to be the norm at the moment to leave every speedway meeting drenched.

For the second night running we managed to get just far enough to declare a match completed, this time Workington winning the Premier Trophy match 41-34.

Rain had been expected, and came earlier than forecast, but by making a quick start and keeping the heats ticking over we just squeezed in the required 12 heats.

From Edinburgh's view point it was a strange evening - a patchy performance but with improvement towards the end that kept the score respectable.

Rusty rode superbly in all his heats, Derek again showed his quality at reserve, and both Theo and Matthew came good after a slow start.

On the other hand Henrik, William and Sean didn't do much of note.

But it certainly would be nice to have an evening at Speedway with no rain at all.
