Following the events of Friday night at Armadale when he failed to take his third and fourth rides, Edinburgh Monarchs confirm that Rusty Harrison will not ride in their team again.

They have been granted a 28-day facility to use rider replacement for the rider deemed to be withholding his services, and will use that time to identify a suitable replacement.

Promoter John Campbell said "We felt that it was important to make this announcement quickly to end the speculation which has naturally been taking place amongst our supporters."

The decision to end Rusty's time as a Monarch is unanimous amongst the club's directors whose view of his walkout during the match with Rye House coincides with that being expressed by supporters that he let the team down. Naturally there is much regret that it has come to this after he has ridden so many good matches for Monarchs in the past.

The first match without the rider who won the Rider of the Year and Raymond Jarvie Trophies in 2005 will be at Newcastle on Monday night.
