Following the chaotic situation that arose at last Friday's meeting, the management of Armadale Speedway wish to offer some compensation for the unusual and unsatisfactory circumstances that developed.

All adults and OAPs entering the stadium for this Friday's match against Redcar will be issued with a voucher offering a 20% reduction in price for the meeting at the stadium on 21st July. All children will be admitted free on 21st July and 28th July.

The problems started with the bad weather, the consequent late start and further delays during the meeting while the referee listened to and acted upon the complaints of some riders.

Said Club Chairman Alex Harkess "Much of what happened last Friday was out of our control but at the end of the day the buck must stop with the Promotion. We hope that this gesture will encourage supporters to stick with us in what has developed into a difficult period. We expect to be back to normal this Friday and we are working overtime to bring the team back to full strength."

Ex world champion Gary Havelock leads the in-form Redcar Bears team on Friday.

CORRECTION

In our previous Press Release we stated that Rusty Harrison left the stadium before the end of last Friday's meeting. This was not correct and the Harrisons were informed that the error would be corrected in our next press statement.

However it makes no material difference to the situation. Rusty Harrison did not turn out in his third or fourth programmed races, and his van was loaded ready to leave before the end of the meeting.
