Edinburgh Monarchs
The Scotwaste Monarchs fought back from a six-point deficit to lead going into the last race at Newcastle, before going down to a frustrating 46-44 defeat.
The star of our show was George Stancl, who won his first four heats on his former track, and also threw in some brilliant team riding with Derek Sneddon.
Derek recovered from a slow start to feature in two 5-1 advantages, and there was solid scoring from Matthew, Kai and Andrew also.
We were without Daniele who was struggling with his injury following his return on Friday, and his absence probably cost us victory. He should be back in the saddle for the return match at home on Friday.
