The Scotwaste Monarchs continue to challenge Workington as Speedway's most unlucky team, with everything going wrong at Armadale tonight in a 43-46 loss to Newcastle.

As last Sunday, Monarchs led going into the closing stages, but with so many problems they were unable to hang on.

Just look at this catalogue:

DEREK SNEDDON was missing after his accident at Sheffield which was not his fault.

GEORGE STANCL was left with one engine after his southern trip, and stopped while leading heat 1. He rode in heat 6 on Matthew Wethers' bike, made the start but lifted on the second bend, bringing down Andrew Tully, injuring his ankle and wrecking Wethers' bike.

MATTHEW WETHERS had to continue on his second bike and struggled though riding well.

ANDREW TULLY rode brilliantly before running out of steam towards the end, but may not be fit to travel to Stoke following his heat 6 tumble.

DANIELE TESSARI struggled at first but really went for it in his final two rides. However he fell and is now struggling with that knee once more.

Which leaves KALLE KATAJISTO who continues the learning process, plus KAJ LAUKKANEN who wasn't there.

Christian Henry was the star for Newcastle who ran out 46-43 winners, with Jason Lyons (14) doing an excellent job as Monarchs' guest.
