The 2008 Scotwaste Monarchs held their Press session on Friday afternoon but the track was far too wet to allow any possibility of riding on it.

It was mainly a wild and wet day with periodic bursts of sunshine. After the riders had been presented with their newly-designed race jackets by Stewart Melrose of Scotwaste, there was a sunny spell which allowed photos to be taken.

The state of the track was especially disappointing for new boys Ryan Fisher and Thomas H Jonasson who will go into next Friday's opener without having ridden on their home circuit.

As ever, Andrew Tully declared his willingness to go out and ride but it would have been crazy, and he would have got his colourful new kevlats in a mess.

The riders headed for the Cairn Hotel to have a meal together before meeting supporters at the Talk-In in the evening. Derek and Ryan had another engagement in between, heading back into town to speak on Talk107 radio then going back to the Cairn.

It was a good session and the team face Sunday's away match at Glasgow in a good frame of mind.
