Due to the after-effects of a Swedish crash on Tuesday, Thomas Jonasson will again be missing from the Monarchs' lineup against Stoke at Armadale on Friday.

He crashed in his first heat of the match, but continued to race and scored 5+1. However he has subsequently felt unwell and had hospital treatment. He has been in regular contact with promoter John Campbell since the accident.

He missed his scheduled match for Vargarna on Thursday night and will again be at the hospital tomorrow. He will not ride against Stoke at Armadale which is especially disappointing as an engine had been specially prepared for him to use in this match. That will have to wait.

Monarchs are still hoping that he will ride at Stoke on Saturday ? he would be expected to be a key man in that match. He has a scheduled match in Poland on Sunday and a flight has been arranged to get him there if he is fit to ride. Clearly it will be a matter of continuously assessing his state of health.

Thomas has had a rocky time this season, having ridden 10 matches for the club but missing quite a few others through injury and fixture clashes. From everyone's point of view he really needs a clear run of matches to show what he can do.

WILLIAM'S SWEDISH DEBUT

On a happier note William Lawson made a good debut for Vargarna in Sweden on Thursday night, scoring 6 points racing away against Griparna.
