Edinburgh Monarchs
Workington deservedly qualified to meet Somerset in the KO Cup final, beating Monarchs 94-88 on aggregate.
Monarchs probably lost the tie by not scoring enough in the home leg.
They started slowly and were actually behind on aggregate by heat 7. But they fought back with great spirit and took the tie to the final race.
We have five different race winners on a slick circuit. In a thrilling heat fourteen, we seemed on the verge of a 5-1 to take the aggregate lead until Andrew Tully fell.
In the end we came up just short, but our fans easily out-shouted the Comets.
On to Birmingham tomorrow...
