A sensational performance by Ryan Fisher backed by a solid team performance gave the Scotwaste Monarchs a 2-point advantage after the first leg of the Premier Trophy semi-final at Scunthorpe.

Ryan had four victories including an almost unbelievable third-to-first ride in heat 13 when he rode an incredibly wide line.

Everyone contributed points with 2 wins for Thomas Jonasson and one each for Tully and Summers.

Matthew Wethers was solid and Byron Bekker was on the pace, starting with a good second place.

Aaron Summers was something of a revelation, starting with two very poor last places before coming to life with paid 8 from his last three. This certainly steadied the ship and helped us to victory.

The Scorpions were really a 3-man team and were indebted to reserve Simon Lambert who flew to 15+2 from seven rides.

Scunthorpe team manager Kenny Smith who is seriously ill made it to the track to watch the match and received a great reception.
