"Scotwaste Monarchs co-promoter John Campbell was delighted with his team's weekend which saw the Premier League campaign open at Redcar on Thursday with a win followed by another league triumph over Sheffield at Armadale on Friday.

Said Campbell, "Our meeting on Friday night at home had everything in it. After one or two disappointing crowds, our supporters turned out in force for the opening home league fixture. We also had a number of visitors from Sheffield and that created, by far, the best atmosphere we've had on the terraces this season. The action on the track was also supercharged and we experienced the best racing that we've had this year. To complete the night with a big win over Sheffield, after a shaky start, was the icing on the cake and it's great to have raced two league matches, one home, one away, and won them both."

The Scotwaste Monarchs now have a short break from league action with this weekend's matches, home and away, against Rye Hose being the first round of the knock out cup.

Scotwaste Monarchs chairman, Alex Harkess commented, "Although we defeated the Rockets convincingly in the knock out cup last season they have always been one of the best visitors to Armadale and we expect a very hard fought tie against them. We're hoping to build as big a lead as possible to take to Rye House on Saturday and I'm sure that if we get the same backing from the terraces as we did on Friday then we'll be well on our way."
