TWO OUT FOR THE WEEKEND

Today's injury report is disappointing, and it is confirmed that neither Matthew Wethers nor Kyle Howarth will be fit to ride tomorrow against Somerset or at Workington on Saturday.

Matthew has a swollen left knee, too swollen to get any meaningful results from x-rays, so it is impossible to say what his position will be for subsequent matches. Rider replacement will be used for the skipper, who unfortunately is only fourth in the averages.

A guest is being sought for Kyle who was simply battered in last night's accident, but there is not a wide choice.

So it's tough times for the Scotwaste Monarchs, champions twice in the last three years. We will need the remaining riders at their best to win tomorrow, plus the best support the fans can provide.
