Scotwaste Monarchs Chairman, Alex Harkess, has put out a call to all supporters to get to Armadale on Friday long before start time. Said Alex, “We’re expecting a very big crowd on Friday, certainly much bigger than anything we experienced last season.

"We are launching a big advertising campaign in the press and on the radio this week and we do expect a bigger contingent of Tigers fans than we have experienced for a year or two, keen to see their team in action for the first time.

I also understand that our website is taking daily hits far in excess of anything we’ve experienced before and I’d like to think that will reflect on the numbers attending on Friday. Of course we’ve got a much better weather forecast this week and it’s stopped snowing every morning!”

The stadium gates open at 6.30pm on Friday and whilst stocks last each child entering the stadium will receive an Easter Egg from our Easter Bunny. There have been a number of changes undertaken within the stadium that supporters will be keen to see.

It has always been the Scotwaste Monarchs policy to start the show at the scheduled start time and that will be the case on Friday and with a special opening to the season also planned it is all the more reason to be in the stadium by 7.30pm.

Alex added, ”I think that there is a buzz about speedway in Scotland that we’ve not experienced for a few years. We’ve been getting significant press coverage for the last couple of weeks and we even got a mention on Scottish Television last week. That’s almost unheard of. Glasgow have also been beating the speedway drum and they must be very happy with the press coverage they’ve achieved. All in all I think it’s a season to look forward to and what better way to start than with a Monarchs win.”

Hospitality packages and admission tickets are still available by visiting our ticket website here and admission tickets purchased online by 11.59pm on Thursday are generally £2 cheaper than the walk up admission price on the night.
