Scotwaste Monarchs are keeping a careful eye on the weather for Friday night’s opening league match against current League Champions.

Speaking on Thursday evening Monarchs Chairman Alex Harkess said, “Obviously the forecasts I have seen this evening do not paint a very encouraging picture for Friday evening but I know from experience that these forecasts can prove wrong on the day. We only need the rain to push a few miles further north as it crosses the country and we’ll be ok. Certainly, at the moment, having enjoyed good weather all week at Armadale we have no problems with the track.”

Supporters should keep a close eye on Scotwaste Monarchs Facebook and Twitter as the intention is to update both throughout Friday with the very latest news.

Scunthorpe have made a late change to their team. Josh Bates who, on the Sky televised match on Tuesday, looked very enthusiastic if a little out of control has been removed from the team and replaced by Lewis Blackbird. He’s already been to Armadale this year and got a paid win in heat 14. For sure he strengthens the Scorpions team.

Doug Wyer is already enjoying Scottish hospitality as he prepares for his Legends Night at Armadale on Friday evening. Unfortunately we have had to withdraw the sale of hospitality packages on Thursday evening to allow us to confirm catering arrangements but anyone who would like to enquire about last minute availability should call the stadium on 01501 734404 on Friday.
