Claus Vissing has declared himself fit to take his place in the Scotwaste Monarchs line-up for their vital League Cup match against Glasgow at Armadale on Friday evening.

Said Claus, “I’ve got complete movement back in my arm now and although I’m still a little sore that’s part of the game if you are a speedway rider. I’ve been out running today to get the blood pumping and I’m feeling good. I know how important this match is for the team and I don’t want to let anyone down.”

Jozsef Tabaka was another who wasn’t feeling 100% after our match at Scunthorpe on Monday. He was brought down by Ryan Douglas in heat 2 and hit the deck pretty hard. He bravely carried on but was certainly feeling the fall by the end of the meeting. We are pleased to report that after a few days rest he is feeling much better now.

Not such a lucky man on Monday was Steve Jones. We’ve seen a bit of him in our second half last year and this year and he helped Theo Pijper in the pits at Scunthorpe before donning his kevlars to race in the National League challenge. He was having a good afternoon but, unfortunately was involved in a serious accident in heat 13 which resulted in the meeting being abandoned when the paramedic went to the hospital with Steve. Sadly it was ben confirmed that Steve has two breaks to his leg as well as some other injuries. We wish him well for a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back at Armadale soon.

Theo Pijper was racing in a grasstrack meeting in the sunshine at Lüdinghausen in Germany on Thursday afternoon. He finished sixth with the meeting won by Martin Smolinski.

Craig Cook was also due to be in action at Swindon on Thursday evening and got almost all the way there before it was rained off. At least he would be home before midnight!

Friday evening’s action at Armadale gets underway at 7.30pm.
