We now know the dates for the Knockout Cup quarter final tie against Newcastle, and we know our opposition in the League Cup semi-finals.

Both look like tremendous contests. We will race Newcastle at Armadale on 14th June and head down to Tyneside for the return two days later.

In the League Cup, we’ve drawn another tough match against the Ipswich Witches, a repeat of last season’s KO Cup semi final (which we lost!) The dates for this one have still to be set.

We also have a tough match on Friday because we now know that it has not been possible to arrange suitable transport to get Theo Pijper from Armadale to Finland for his Longtrack round the next day. It can be done but it is tight, and Theo’s Federation did not want him to take the risk.

So we will use rider replacement, with everyone able to take a ride. Standing in for the injured Mitchell Davey will be the in-form Coventry Storm rider James Sarjeant.
