Our no. 1 gets his deserved call-up to the GB World Cup team who race their first meeting at King’s Lynn on Monday 15th July.

Last week, Craig himself was a bit pessimistic about his chances, though anyone who follows results closely would surely feel that GB manager Neil Middleditch has made the right decision.

Neil who perhaps doesn’t see too much Premier racing, said "It was a hard call and congratulations to Cookie, I'm delighted for the lad and I made the final decision based on statistics and when I've seen him.”

The other main team members are Tai Woffinden, Chris Harris and Eddie Kennett. Ben Barker, Danny King and Richie Worrall miss out as there are just four riders per team.

In the King’s Lynn event GB take on Denmark, injury-wrecked Sweden and the USA and must have an excellent chance of making it to the Playoff on Thursday 18th (Prague).

Whether they can beat Denmark and go straight to the Final, that might be more doubtful. We might have to race without Craig during that week but certainly support him in his bid to move upwards in the sport.
