After talks between the management of both teams dates for the replay of the Knock Out Cup semi final have been agreed.

The Scotwaste Monarchs will be travelling south to Somerset on Wednesday 18th September and the return will be at Armadale two days later on 20th September.

Said Club Chairman Alex Harkess, “We had set aside 20th September for a Scottish Cup tie with Glasgow so we are grateful to them for standing aside to allow us to race the replay instead. We are, obviously, two very finely balanced teams and I’m sure I speak for Somerset also in saying we’d both fancy our chances in the Final against Rye House. Unfortunately one of us will not have that chance.”

News of Max Fricke, injured in that frightful heat 8 crash on Friday is that he is making very slow progress from his aches and pains. As of Sunday evening he is still not capable of sitting up unaided so there must be a chance that he will be missing from Friday’s match against Ipswich. He drops to reserve for that match so it is an important part to fill. More news later in the week.

Josh Bates made his comeback at Buxton on Sunday afternoon for Mildenhall. After an engine failure he won his second race before withdrawing with a wrist injury so that doesn’t sound very promising. His replacement in our last two meetings, Liam Carr, won his last two races for Buxton in the same meeting and set the two fastest times of the afternoon.

Over at Glasgow, Theo Pijper guested for the Scottish Tigers as they drew with Sheffield Tigers. Theo scored 7 and two bonus in helping Glasgow to their first league point since May. In Poland Claus Vissing scored 8 points from 5 rides as his team Krosno lost 50 to 40 at Opole. Claus crashed in the last heat but appears to be none the worse for it. They are now six points behind Rybnik.
