Although all the matches in our play off group were finished by last Friday there is some way to go yet before our final opposition becomes clearer.

The other group reached the half way stage last night with another big home win. This time the biggest win of all was scored by Newcastle over Redcar by 61 to 35. This follows Somerset’s big win, 57 to 37, over Redcar on Friday. Redcar had already defeated Newcastle by 53 to 37 at the South Tees Motoparc.

So where does that leaves us? Unless the group continues to have big home wins, it seems that Redcar’s chances are drifting away. Their last match is at home against Somerset on Thursday. On Friday Somerset entertain Newcastle at the Oak Tree Arena with the return at Newcastle on Sunday. Somerset would take a giant step forward if they can pick up any points at Redcar on Thursday.

Until our final opponents are confirmed we cannot be sure of the date of our staging of the two-legged final but it is likely to be Friday 18th October.
