We had hoped to gain a little more knowledge concerning our Championship Final opponents after the Redcar v Somerset match on Thursday evening but for the second week running the match was postponed shortly before start time.

That now means that unless Somerset defeat Newcastle home and away this weekend the Redcar match will still have a crucial input to the winners of the group. It is still our intention to stage our leg of the final next Friday, 18th October.

Glasgow Tigers will arrive at Armadale on Friday evening full of confidence that their three regular team members and their three guests will be capable of holding onto the twenty three point lead established back on the 8th of September. However, the Scotwaste Monarchs have run into some great form recently and are determined to win back the Scottish Cup.

So what of the missing Glasgow riders. Joe Screen has retired, of course. Dakota North is riding in the same match at Peterborough as Craig Cook is and Joey Ringwood and Anders Thomsen appear to have returned home despite the British Speedway season not coming to an end for another twenty days.

For James Grieves it is his 99th and final appearance as he ends his speedway career at the end of Friday’s match. There sure to be a special boo for James to wish him bon voyage to a happy retirement.

The End of Season Dance tickets continue to sell well with less than a third of the total tickets still being available. Tickets are priced at £35 with a part of the proceeds going to our Air Fence Fund.

Another of our Air Fence fundraisers, the 2014 Scotwaste Monarchs calendar will be on sale at the stadium next Friday priced £6.50. You can order yours on Friday evening at the Club Shop.
