We've waited a long time for it to happen but we are pleased to confirm that Sam Masters arrived safely at Edinburgh Airport this morning.

Although he was a little concerned about the temperature on his arrival, a very pleasant four degrees in Edinburgh as against the uncomfortably warm thirty degrees he left in Sydney, it was an uneventful trip for Sam. Well, at least until he arrived in Edinburgh.

Sam left Australia with two bags of clothing and racing gear and two boxes with speedway engines in them. The bags arrived safely but unfortunately the engines missed the flight north from Heathrow, but were due to arrive later in the day.

Sam faces a busy few days in setting himself up in Scotland. First of all, as soon as he gets over his trip from down under, he if off down south to Somerset where he must collect his racing equipment, left there at the end of the 2012 season, to bring to Scotland. In fact, two trips may be required as he has much to bring north.

He's got plenty of time to get himself organised although he does plan to be at the History Show at Meggetland on the 14th.
