After a winter of fund raising last weeks Air Fence Challenge ensured that we reached and exceeded our target to allow us to fully fund the purchase of our air fence. We are very grateful to each and everyone of you who has helped in any way. Thank you to you all.

Last week's meeting drew the biggest crowd of the season and also the third biggest since August 2011. That resulted in a significant sum being added to our air fence fund and although there are still other fund raisers on the go, particularly the Geoff Craythorne Ben Nevis climb, we can confirm that the air fence fund now stands at £23060.36.

So we are very pleased to confirm that not only have we been able to pay for the work in altering the line of safety fence to allow for the installation of the airfence, we have also paid for the airfence itself and we have a fairly substantial sum in reserve to cover the ongoing maintenance of the fence and the fittings.

Last week's Air Fence Challenge was contested in good spirit by both teams with both sets of riders being fully aware of the importance of the event.

Those who donated to fund an air fence panel and had their photo taken at the press day can pick up their photo at the video table on Friday night.

This will be the last of our regular updates regarding the air fence.
