Before the mid season break the Scotwaste Monarchs face a busy time over the next week.

On Thursday the Scotwaste Monarchs travel to Teesside for a league match against the Redcar Bears. The Bears seem to have been revitalised with the signing of Mark Lemon and on Tuesday night they were at Peterborough up against the team that gave us such trouble last Friday. After being ten points down at heat 7 the Bears came back strongly and it took a flawless ride from Lewis Blackbird in heat 15 to prevent a Bears' victory with 45 - 45 being the final score.

The Bears travel up to Armadale and they have proved to be daunting opponents for the Monarchs at Armadale registering more than one surprise victory. Can they do it again. Richard Lawson will be missing as he is riding for Lakeside but they have a very capable guest in Kevin Wolbert.

Football fans can enjoy the best on both worlds on Friday. The Premier League match should just about be coming to an end just as the World Cup Quarter Final between Brazil and Columbia is kicking off. The Armadale Stadium bar now has two large screen televisions and the football will be showing on them until the game is complete.

On Sunday it is another visit to Ashfield for a league match against the Tigers. They have managed three victories on the trot and are unbeaten at home in the league. Although they will still be without Christian Henry they do expect Anders Thomsen to be back in action.
