A forthcoming highlight of the Armadale Speedway season is the Harrison’s Scottish Open on Friday 1st August, and planning for the event has started with invitations being issued to ensure a competitive field.

Holder of the event is Monarchs’ no. 1 Craig Cook but there will be plenty of contenders capable of making it tough for him to retain his title. We’ll announce the riders as we receive acceptances.

We will be retaining to format of 16 riders, 20 heats plus a semi-final and final, which has stood us well over the Armadale era. The meeting has been staged in varying formats right back to 1928 and it is the oldest individual event in UK speedway still running.

This will be the third year of sponsorship of the meeting for Harrisons of Peebles and as before we are offering sponsorship packages to individual and businesses, good value for the sponsors and also essential in meeting the costs of an event which at 22 races (and substantial points money to draw the best field) is probably 50% more expensive than any other Armadale meeting to stage.

The packages available range from £30 for fuel/oil, £40 for tyres, £150 for rider sponsorship and £250 for heat sponsorship.

Full details on sponsorship packages and admission prices can be found at www.be-there.co.

Season tickets will admit the holder as normal for no additional charge.
