  Edinburgh Monarchs

We are just a few hours away from the start of the 2014 Scottish Open Championship and from a speedway point of view the weather conditions are perfect. Warm, dry and cloudy!

We've had one late call off and that is from Rye House's Jason Garrity. Up until early Friday afternoon the search for a replacement had not produced one but it was continuing into the afternoon with one rider agreeing to come and then withdrawing again later.

The sixteenth rider will be Redcar's Polish rider Rafal Konopka who has been keen, for some weeks, to ride in the event. It will be interesting to see how he gets on round Armadale!

All those who have purchased some kind of sponsorship for the event are requested to use the season/advance ticket gate to enter the stadium. Full instructions will be issued here as you enter the stadium.

The Championship gets underway at 7.15pm with the stadium gates opening, as normal, at 6.30pm. We are pleased to welcome Harrisons the Ford Dealer in Peebles and all their guests and all those who have assisted us in staging the event with additional sponsorship.

Let's hope for a Monarchs 1-2-3.
