INTEREST SKY HIGH

Interest in sky high in this weekend's feast of speedway at Armadale. Advance bookings have hit their highest level ever as supporters snap up discounted tickets for the weekend action.

It's the play-offs that are causing all the interest and the cut-off in particular. Our first visitors on Friday, first race at the tapes at 7.00pm precisely, are the Redcar Bears and their interest in the play-offs is over for this year.

Our second guests, Glasgow Tigers, still have an outside chance of qualification but would have to secure all the league points available at Armadale and at Ashfield on Sunday and hope that all the other results go their way.

The main interest, though, is in our own ability in overhauling Somerset to secure top spot. At the moment Scotwaste Monarchs are six points behind the Rebels and if we each secure all the available home points then we will tie on league points and it would come down to race points difference.

Somerset have a 48 point advantage at the moment but if the Scotwaste Monarchs were to rattle up three wins as big as last Friday's then that situation would easily change. Shame that the opposition in all three of our matches is somewhat better than last week's.

The stadium gates will open at 6.15pm on Friday and we will be offering, after a successful trial last week, the opportunity to pay by debit or credit card. Please use the advance ticket gate if you wish to use this option.

The supporters' coach from Edinburgh will leave thirty minutes earlier than normal at 5.45pm.
