ANOTHER WASH OUT

It may have been the driest September on record but the 3rd of October may have been one of the wettest ever and when it came to decision time at six o'clock there could only be one answer.

So the management of the Scotwaste Monarchs and the Newcastle Diamonds were left scratching their heads trying to come up with a new date for the Cup Semi Final to leave time for one of the teams to race a final also.

Said Monarchs co-promoter John Campbell, "We did have tentative discussions about restaging on Saturday evening but with riders already committed to Rusty Harrison's Testimonial, all our riders being due at Peterborough at 2.00pm on Sunday and a weather forecast that wasn't as good as today's it was felt best not to go ahead on that day."

So discussions will continue over the weekend to find the most appropriate date for a restaging.
