Busy Boys

Some of our riders have been busy over the weekend and with some success too.

Sam Masters took his place in the Grand Prix quarter final at King's Lynn on Saturday night. He finished in fifth place with ten points, including two race wins, and he has qualified for the semi final. That will give him a meeting at either Gorican in Croatia or Lonigo in Italy.

Erik Riss flew out of Scotland on Saturday morning having been in the country for less than 24 hours. On Thursday he won a big long track meeting in Herxheim in Germany with a 20 point maximum. On Saturday it was back to speedway at Moorswinkeldamm and the Masters of Speedway event. After a good start with a win and second place his afternoon ended with a fall and a retirement to take him out of the reckoning.

Dan Bewley scored an eighteen point maximum at Belle Vue on Friday night but the tight tricky Rye House circuit would surely prove difficult for him on Sunday. Surely not, in fact, as he raced to four straight wins including defeating home stars Morley and Branford. He took a fall in the difficult heat 13 before bouncing back with a win in heat 14. He was pushed out of the way in heat 15 but his 15 point score helped Belle Vue Colts to a two point win.
