Erik Riss had a good night in the World Long Track GP at Morizes in France on Saturday evening and extended his lead at the top of the Championship rankings.

The World Long Track GP series has one more event at Vechta in Germany on 17th September and Erik now has a sixteen point lead over his nearest rival, reigning champion, Jannick de Jong. Erik finished equal on points on Saturday night with Dimitri Berge finishing on 24 although the Frenchman won the meeting in front of his home crowd.

Erik now goes to the final round, in front of his home supporters, knowing that he can regain his World Crown with a solid display. The maximum number of points available to the winner of a Grand Prix is 28, although no one has scored that number this season.

Erik continues to be busy with a trip to France again on Saturday for the European under 21 speedway championship.
