Further encouraging news for everyone has arrived today as our injured photographer Peter Hill has been allowed home from Hospital, and he is in good spirits.

He said yesterday "I continue to be overwhelmed with the messages of support. Yesterday's surgery all went well and today I had the drain on my wounds removed and I've been up and out of bed under my own steam. Everything is going well and I'll see you all soon!"

Progress has continued apace and that's why Peter is now back home. He added "It was a freak accident. It wasn't my fault and it certainly wasn't Cookie's fault."

There have been literally hundreds of messages of support from around the speedway world, and Peter sends his thanks to all of them. He has to wear his neck brace for 12 weeks but it could have been a lot worse.

Those responsible for taking care of Peter have earned praise. Visiting promoter Julie Reading from Sheffield who was in Scotland on holiday said "I thought the club dealt with things impeccably. I did fear the worst I have to say but thank goodness that's not the case."

The medical staff at the track and those arriving after the accident, plus those treating Peter at the ERI have all been superb. We look forward to seeing Peter at Armadale whenever possible – the next home meeting is on Friday 18th August.
