Persistent precipitation postpones Scorpions clash

Persistent rain has led to the postponement of tonight's home match against Scunthorpe Scorpions.

Despite weather warnings and localised flooding throughout the middle of the week, the track held up well having been prepared for rain and was in good condition as Friday dawned.

As early morning drizzle petered out, the rain radar cleared and forecasts looked fair for the rest of today with only a slight chance of thundery rain appearing. Unfortunately this proved to be the case as heavy and persistent rain developed over the stadium in late afternoon leading to the postponement of the fixture.

The annual Children's Evening had been set to accompany tonight's match and will now be rescheduled for a future date.

Ticket holders for tonight's match can now use their tickets for any standard Monarchs fixture this season or can email the Club for a refund.

Stellar Monarchs now look forward to an away visit to Oxford Cheetahs in Cab Direct Championship action on Wednesday followed by hosting Glasgow Tigers next Friday at Armadale Stadium in the BSN Series. The winner of this match will clinch a semi final place meaning it is all to race for.
