Stellar Monarchs Captain Paco Castagna is just five rides away from a place in the Speedway Grand Prix series having clinched a place in the Grand Prix Challenge.

Paco lined up in the SGP Qualifier at his home track of Lonigo in Italy on Saturday and put in a terrific performance. Taking fourth overall, Paco secured his place in the SGP Challenge which is staged at Czech track Pardubice on October 4th later this year.

A strong start with three race wins put Paco in a commanding position in the event alongside many top class riders. A further three points from his final two rides was enough to tie with Jack Holder for third position on the day, with Holder taking a run off victory for third with Paco taking the fourth a final qualifying position.

Current Grand Prix rider Jan Kvech won the day, with fellow GP riders Dan Bewley and Holder taking the other spots on the podium.

Paco joins all three to progress to the SGP Challenge in what is an extremely strong line up to race for the four places available in the 2025 SGP series. Five more strong rides will land Paco a place in next year's series. Very well done and go for it Paco!
