Stellar Monarchs are gearing up for a big week ahead with a visit to Oxford and a massive home Scottish derby match.

Monarchs head south on Wednesday to take on the Cheetahs at Oxford Stadium with a 7:30pm start.

Josh Pickering had initially been hopeful of making his return from injury at this match but has found that it has come too early and his shoulder has not yet recovered.

Lasse Fredriksen will be back in the side following recent illness and confirmed he is fighting fit by completing the 10k race at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival at the weekend.

Stellar Monarchs then host Glasgow Tigers in the first home Scottish derby of the season on Friday at Armadale Stadium from 7:30pm in the BSN Series group stage decider. The winner of this match will progress to the semi finals making this a massive derby match.

Josh will sit out Friday's match also with Craig Cook lined up to take his place on both Wednesday and Friday.

The match at Oxford will be live streamed on Wednesday from 7:15pm on the Oxford Speedway website here:
