It was another tough night on the road for the Stellar Monarchs Academy as they went down 57-33 to a rampant Scunthorpe Stags side a result that leaves them still searching for their first points of the season.

The visitors had no answer to home top pair Luke Harrison and Nathan Ablitt who were unbeaten and untroubled throughout.

With strong back-up throughout the Armadale outfit had no answers and there were heat advantages abound for the hosts.

Main opposition was provided by Max Perry who had two heat wins to his name the young Englishman saying after, 'The conditions were not the best really, it was not really ideal after there had already been a full meeting on the track, some of the boys struggled on it including me.

'I had a slow start I could not work out how to get the set-up and by the end I went back to what I started with and it worked in heat 15.

'It has been a bit of a struggle for us to be fair especially for the boys not getting rides in other leagues and it has not been the season we wanted so far, we need to win the next home match then hopefully we can finish the season strong from there.'

The writing was on the wall from as early as heat one as the home duo rocketed from the start for a maximum.

The visitors did level the scores up fortuitously in heat three after both Sheldon Davies and Mickie Simpson had engine malfunctions while in scoring positions.

The Stags were quickly back in front though and heat advantages in each of the next five races meant the match was well over as a contest.

There were some glimpses of hope the rest of the way with Perry taking his two wins and a good last outing by Mason Watson and Kyran Lyden but overall it was another disappointing night for a side that on paper should be performing better.
