For those who arrived at the stadium early last Friday ahead of the anticipated clash with Glasgow Tigers, you would have been able to take in the demonstration of 'Revvi riding' by the youngest members of the Monarchs Speedway Academy.

The Revvi bike is arguably the best all-electric and environmentally friendly bike for aspiring motorcyclists available and the Academy purchased one ahead of the new season.

It has proved invaluable as a 'first stage' bike for 6-7 year olds who can get used to riding at speed but without the noise and vibration of a traditional bike. There is of course a lot of debate in most motorsport disciplines as to whether e-bikes are the future or not, speedway included.

Earlier last week, we invited the most famous 4 year old in UK speedway circles, Cruz Harris (son of Glasgow's Chris) to Armadale to take part in the demo races with three of our Academy youngsters - Lily Hislop, Cody Brown and Harry Millar.

All three took part in a series of match races against Cruz of two laps duration and all acquitted themselves superbly to riding in the rain and on an increasing wet and muddy 'Minidale'.

The kids loved the experience of riding in the stadium with supporters in the stands cheering them on.

A big thanks to Cruz, who can add Armadale to his track CV and of course to Chris, who was gracious with his time, being trackside during the entire demo period, giving tips to the youngsters and posing for photos with the group.
