Great success at Monarch of the Season Award Dinner

The first Monarch of the Season Awards Dinner was a big success with a great crowd enjoying a fantastic night on Saturday.

Host Liam Rudden opened the evening in the resplendent blue and gold room, followed by a formal welcome from co-promoter Alex Harkess ahead of the first award of the night - Ed's Mighty Monarchs Kids Club Monarch of the Season - going the way of captain Paco Castagna.

A delicious three course meal was enjoyed by all before the full awards ceremony took place. 8 further awards were presented, plus a special surprise award which brought much hilarity.

The full list of awards and winners was as follows:

  • Ed's Mighty Monarchs Kids Club Monarch of the Season - Winner: Paco Castagna (voted for by kids club).

  • Most Improved Rider sponsored by Ross Eco Technologies - Winner: Paco Castagna (biggest increase in average).

  • The Bill Pullar Trophy - Winner: Josh Pickering (highest home points scorer).

  • Bonus Point King sponsored by The Armadallies - Lasse Fredriksen (most bonus points scored).

  • The Raymond Jarvie Trophy - Winner: Alex Dale (outstanding contribution to the Monarchs).

  • Manager's Award - Winner: Justin Sedgmen (positive contribution to the team).

  • Monarchs' Monarch of the Season - Winner: Josh Pickering (voted for by his Monarchs teammates).

  • Academy Monarch of the Season - Winner: Dayle Wood (most Academy Monarch of the Match awards, voted by the fans).

  • Ripper of the Season - Winner: Connor Coles (fun award for most holes in the backside of racesuit).

  • Monarch of the Season sponsored by Stellar Omada - Winner: Josh Pickering (most Monarch of the Match awards, voted by the fans).

Speeches from Monarchs Co-Promoter John Campbell, Club Historian Mike Hunter, Academy Manager Scott Wilson and Stellar Omada Managing Director Colin Frame were sprinkled throughout the ceremony before the DJ then kicked into gear, filling the floor to round off a terrific evening.
