Monarchs are excited to confirm details of the 2025 British Speedway season, with all clubs confirmed to return.

British Speedway's AGM ended this week and has finalised the season's structure, fixtures, and rules, promising a thrilling year for fans across the UK.

Championship Season Highlights for Monarchs

In 2025, Monarchs will remain part of a competitive Championship league, with the team building point limit increasing to 40 points - a rule now set for the next three seasons.

Monarchs will start with a high-energy weekend featuring the Championship Pairs on Saturday, April 5, hosted by Workington, and the Championship League Riders' Championship on Sunday, April 6 at Scunthorpe. This early double header promises a fantastic start with top competitors from Edinburgh and beyond.

In the Knock Out Cup, Monarchs are set to face Workington in the preliminary round, with the winner advancing to a quarter final clash against local rivals Glasgow. Monarchs will also once again compete in the BSN Series Scottish section alongside Glasgow and Berwick.

Broader Developments

British Speedway has committed to a stable season across both the Premiership and Championship, with no changes to competing teams or major structures. In the Premiership, Poole will join as Championship champions in the Premiership Knock Out Cup, taking on top-flight clubs for added excitement. A British Semi-Final has also been reintroduced, with Leicester hosting the qualifying round for the British Final, scheduled for Belle Vue later in the season.

Youth development remains a top priority, with plans to expand the National Development League, introducing more fixtures and potential new teams to strengthen the sport's future talent.
