The EMTV team have dug into the archives once again to pull out another season of top class action!

2013 was a stepping stone to the successes of the following two seasons, which saw club legends Derek Sneddon and Craig Cook in the side, along with teenage sensation Max Fricke. The season drew to a close with a top 4 league finish and a strong showing in the Play Offs.

Mike Hunter's Highlight

The latest season we are bringing to the website for our EMTV+ supporters is 2013, which we now know was a stepping stone to our magnificent successes of 2014-5. We only actually had three of the 2014 side though there should have been four – we had signed Sam Masters but visa problems delayed his arrival for a year.

We had Craig Cook, PL individual champion, teenage sensation Max Fricke and captain Derek Sneddon, so that was a very important trio indeed. Claus Vissing was signed on when we knew Sam wasn't coming, and we had Theo Pijper, Marcel Helfer and the exciting Joszef Tabaka, the very likeable Hungarian whose season was to end painfully in the Playoff Final.

In fact we came very close to sneaking a victory in these Playoffs, after only coming fourth in the League. We topped our Playoff table ahead of Newcastle and Ipswich and only lost to Somerset by 3 points in the Final, in spite of losing Tabaka. But in truth Somerset were the best team over the year.

Picking out a recommended match from an exciting season, how about the visit of these Somerset Rebels on 16th August? 9 of the 15 heats in this match made the highlights DVD, and yes, this was the match in which guest reserve Josh Bates beat Jason Doyle!

I hope you enjoy watching all the matches.
