Oskar Polis is full of confidence as he prepares for his British league racing debut for Stellar Monarchs.
The experienced Pole will take on the challenge of British Speedway in front of his new home crowd at Armadale Stadium on Friday April 4, at the Scottish Cup clash against Glasgow Tigers.
The 28-year-old said: "I have already competed in all leagues where speedway takes place, the only league in which I have never competed is Britain.
"I got a proposal that was quite nicely logistical, so I decided that it was worth trying."
Alongside the Monarchs, Polis will be racing for Vargarna in Sweden with teammate Victor Palovaara, and making a return to Kolejarz Opole in Poland.
He will have to fly from Sweden to get to his British meetings and immediately return to Poland for his Sunday fixtures.
"The team manager John Campbell helped me arrange the logistics quite cleverly," he said.
"The logistics are quite complicated, but when we get into the flow of it - planes, airports, flights - I think it will work great.
"I have two motorcycles prepared, two engines, you can say, for British tracks. After watching videos on the internet from meetings held at these stadiums, I think it will not be a problem for me to fit in and to get good results."
Asked what his biggest challenge on UK tracks will be, Polis said: "I like technical tracks, difficult, full of holes, so at the moment I think nothing. But this can change, I hope that it won't change, but I need time to check.
"For now, I'm optimistic."
Following a disappointing 2024 in Poland, he has stuck to his regular preparations ahead of this season with lots of motocross and enduro training. He says he doesn't feel any pressure and will be approaching with a cool head in hopes of being a key character for the Monarchs.
"I know that I haven't forgotten how to ride a motorbike," he said.
"I'm looking forward to the first matches and scoring good points.
"Doing this for 17 years, I treat it as a job. It's nice to get back for sure, because there was a long winter break."
Fans can expect to see the new team addition during the 2025 Season Launch Show on March 28 (Friday) at Edinburgh Napier University Craiglockhart campus.
