Glasgow's Chris Harris rounded off the Championship's 'Big Weekend' at Scunthorpe on Sunday afternoon taking top spot on the podium ahead of teammate Kyle Howarth and home number one Steve Worrall who was best qualifier throughout.

Harris doing it the hard way as he so often does coming from the back to pass Richard Lawson in the last chance qualifier before doing the same to Howarth in the final.

For the Stellar Monarchs it was a role reversal of the Championship Pairs as Justin Sedgmen had an improved afternoon whereas Kye Thomson had a day to forget.

Sedgmen's day started slowly as a heat one last place from the early meeting graveyard that was gate three put him on the back foot.

The Aussie's day would improve from there, the highlight a tapes to flag heat 15 win over Lawson, Masters and Zischke.

A repeat of this in heat 19 would have been enough for a semi final spot but it was Howarth who rocketed from the start in that one and with Antti Vuolas also heading the Monarch home his day was over.

For Thomson it was a day to forget as he failed to register a point however he was involved in some interesting tussles throughout, all in all a good weekend of experience for Kye stepping into the big events.

So, the Championship special events are now concluded and it is a well done to Redcar and Harris for their respective wins.

All eyes across the country now turning to KO Cup and BSN Series action as teams start their season in earnest.
