Stellar Monarchs enter BSN Series action this weekend with a Friday-Saturday double to launch the group stage campaign - including a Scottish derby home clash.
Friday sees a swift opportunity for Stellar Monarchs to notch a home win over Glasgow Tigers in what is sure to be a fascinating encounter at Armadale Stadium from 7:30pm.
Then on Saturday evening the team hit the road to Berwick to face the Bandits at Shielfield Park from 7pm, looking to add away points to the tally in the BSN Series Scottish section.
Ahead of an exciting weekend, Stellar Monarchs Co-Promoter John Campbell previewed the action, "The team are eager to put things right following our home defeat by the Tigers on opening night. We are warmed up now and ready to tame the Tigers on Friday.
"We anticipate that we will be back to full strength on Friday with Max James having been able to rest and recover from his recent crash but will be able to confirm later in the week."
News has arrived that Paco Castagna has been called up by Italy, plus Victor Palovaara and Jonatan Grahn have been called up by Sweden, for international duty in the European Pairs Championship qualifier which unfortunately clashes with Saturday's trip to Berwick.
Campbell continued, "We will always be proud to have high-quality riders in our side that are being called up by their international federations and we wish Paco, Victor, and Jonatan, all the very best. It is a great opportunity to perform on the international stage.
"It is a point of frustration that it clashes with Saturday's match at Berwick but we have to work through the situation as it presents itself and we have been able to secure the services of what we feel are the best guests available. We thank Jason Edwards, Jye Etheridge, and Luke Harrison, who will line up for the Monarchs on Saturday.
"These are two big matches this weekend. It is critical that we win on Friday to start our BSN Series campaign well. Glasgow managed to win down at Berwick last weekend so we know the importance of a strong performance at Berwick also."
