Edinburgh Stellar Monarchs have updated their team declaration to bring in 19-year-old Cumbrian, Mark Parker ahead of this weekend's cup clash against Workington.

Explaining the move co-promoter John Campbell said, "Max James' facility has come to an end and although he intends to return to racing immediately, he does not feel able to return to his position with us at the present time.

"Quite rightly he wants to build some confidence in the National Development Leagues before returning to the Championship. I look forward to watching his progress in the weeks to come.

"That leaves us in a position that we are obliged to change our declaration. We've searching for a new number7 for four weeks now. It has proved challenging with four riders already declining the opportunity for various reasons.

"Our Management Team has considered carefully the options open to us and consider Mark the best option at this time. He has made considerable improvement in the last six months. He was our top scorer in our last NDL match and has had extensive practice at Workington."

"Mark is still early in his speedway journey but the circumstances have arisen to present this opportunity to gain invaluable experience at Championship level and Mark wasted no time in grabbing it. There are no expectations on Mark and he will learn with every lap."

Mark Parker progresses into the Monarchs team having honed his skills in Monarchs Northern Junior League sides and the Monarchs Academy team.

Stellar Monarchs continue their search for a replacement for Oskar Polis.
