Edinburgh Monarchs
Home and away matches against Workington this weekend will be crucial in deciding whether the Stellar Monarchs can qualify for the end-of-season Playoffs. Comets come to Armadale on Friday with the return in Cumbria on Saturday, which means five league points are available. Monarchs want to shake off their heavy Cup defeat at Glasgow on Wednesday and grab as many of these points as possible to consolidate their current third place in the Championship.
Comets themselves have had an up and down season including a period then their fixtures were suspended but they have had some good results since their return to action, led by Aussies Troy Batchelor and Tate Zischke, plus Finnish star Antti Vuolas and former Monarch Jacob Hook.
Monarchs return to full strength with Victor Palovaara back after illness, and of course Jonatan Grahn available again. In an earlier cup tie Monarchs defeated Workington by over 40 points but they will certainly not expect as easy a match this time.
Justin Sedgmen who scored a maximum at Armadale last Friday said "We can't and won't be taking anything for granted. Any team in this league is capable so you need to be at your best every time - previous results mean nothing."
Friday's match will be Live Streamed for those who cannot attend, details on www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk.
