Ashfield Bound Once Again

PREVIEW Friday 29th August 2025, 1:05pm

  Edinburgh Monarchs

Stellar Monarchs regular season Championship campaign comes to an end at Ashfield on Friday night with both sides still with a job to do.

For the host Glasgow Tigers the formula is simple, win and they top the table, don't and it is Poole who will be top of the tree prior to the playoffs.

For the Monarchs things are a smidge more complex but the crux is a draw or better guarantees fourth place at worst and a tilt at the title.

It is not a point or bust for the Blue and Gold though as even if defeated in this one it would require a run of Workington victories to deny them.

The Monarchs go into this one at full strength and with a mixed bag of Ashfield results this year behind them, the remarkable victory in the Scottish Cup being matched by the worst performance of the year a few weeks ago in the KO Cup.

With a potential playoff match to come also then a confidence boosting result would be welcomed.

The Tigers are forced into one change as Dayle Wood steps in for Max Perry who suffered burns to his hand in a heat two crash at Armadale last week although thankfully the prognosis seems to be better than first feared.

The action starts at 7.30pm with the only way to see the action by getting yourself trackside, so get yourself along and cheer on the boys as they look to get the result required to confirm a playoff spot.
